Everybody Loves the Sunshine!

A few summer sizzlers to celebrate the good weather we are having!

Roy Ayers "Everybody Loves the Sunshine"

Had the pleasure of DJing before this soul and jazz legend a few times in Cork, he is a great guy and a true inspiration to me! This is a live performance from a few years ago, i've also included someones homemade version with the original take!

Kool and the Gang "SummerMadness"

This track kills me everytime-I've also included Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince's update!

Bob Marley-"Waiting In Vain"

Classic tune from later in his career!

'Summertime' never fails to put a smile on my face. Funny that...Will Smith has had the opposite effect ever since then.

  2. Ha ha true enough! It's amazing the way the story went really-both he and Jazzy Jeff made crate loads of money and went of on different paths-Will Smith pursued his ambitions with the acting and cheesier hip-hop, while Jeff withdrew to the underground, spent his money on a studio, and is still one of the best hip-hop producers and DJ's in 2007-his new album, "Return of the Magnificent" is excellent, but is not likely to be heard by many.....
I do admire Will Smiths drive but musically he hasn't really done anything worthwhile-I do think someday he will be an important figure in America and if the likes of Arnie and Reagon can do well politically, i'm sure this guy can-Jazzy Jeff though remains a major inspiration to me!
