I'm not ashamed to say that the first time I heard this groove back in the day was on Mary J Blige's huge "Be Happy" track, a biggie for me at the time. But i soon fell in love with the original, by Curtis Mayfield, a track i initially used have trouble mixing as their is a nick on the start of the 7" vinyl I have. I soon got different copies and also found a lessor known version by Junior English, posted below. The Mary J Blige track leads to another story, of a classic Keith Murray assisted remix, using the ubiquitous "Dollar Dollar Bill Y'all" groove from Jimmy Spicer.
